We are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to one of Sarasota’s most beloved events: the 45th annual New College Foundation Soiree on the Bay, Clambake! Scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 4:30 pm, the event will grace College Hall on the picturesque New College Bayfront.

This esteemed fundraising affair has historically garnered immense support, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. These funds play a pivotal role in New College’s ability to attract and nurture exceptional talent from across the region, nation, and globe, offering an unparalleled liberal arts education. Last year, our collective efforts resulted in over $400,000 raised!

This year, we are excited to unveil New College’s vision of establishing world-class Master’s programs across disciplines including Marine Mammal Science, Educational Leadership, and Data Science. These programs represent not just educational endeavors but our commitment to interdisciplinary excellence in future forward industries such as AI and the Blue Economy that will impact every aspect of the world we live in.

Bifurcation Notice

If you are considering in giving to the New College Foundation’s Annual Clambake from your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) and to ensure your gift follows the current IRS guidelines for DAF support of an event, we would like to share the below guidelines with you

Raffle tickets, tickets to galas and other special events, auction items, and benefits conferred in connection with a DAF grant are not permitted. IRS has specifically ruled that costs associated with fundraising events cannot be separated, a practice known as “bifurcation.” For example, if the ticket breaks out the cost for the dinner and the gift to the charity, the donor must pay from sources other than their DAF for the full value of the ticket and not just for the non-charitable amount.

We recommend you confer with your financial advisor to confirm how you may still use your DAF to support New College Foundation’s Annual Clambake.
